Hot Potato!
Published by Matt Glover December 6th, 2006 in Family & ParentingI went to the Wiggles concert this morning!
My wife, eldest son and I caught the train into town for the 10:00am show. We were a little sad to hear that Greg was no longer part of the act, but once things got going it was pretty clear that his replacement, Sam, was going to be just fine.
Usually when I’m in Rod laver Arena, it’s with a bunch of 12000 or so teenagers for a youth rally. This time it was 12000 kids and parents - but the buzz was the same.
Nearly every concert I’ve been to has had big, ugly security guards separating the artist from the audience. Today, there was an old lady doing a bit of ‘kid control’ and that was about it. The Wiggles and their team spent heaps of time wandering around the arena, from the ground level right up to the top deck.
We just happened to be in the back row of the midddle section, and managed to have a little chat with Murray and Jeff (while he was awake). My boy chatted to them like they were old friends. My wife and I were staggered that such famous names could make a show so interactive and friendly that they would actually come down and chat. Amazing.
Anyway, we’re all on a bit of a high now. I might wear my yellow skivvy to church this week…
Hello Matt,
Are you by any chance Collingwood’s HotRod, of Hot Potato fame?
