It's a tradition thing for Baptists that probably doesn't reflect the reality of our practice at all.

One of the most powerful times of communion I have experienced in the last twelve motnhs gave us an option of either wine or water for communion. If you took the wine, you were greeted with "the blood of Christ shed for you." If you chose the water, the words were, "Christ the living water, poured out for you."

Nice.

possibly something to do with the prohibition (of alcohol) (also a time period) - Presbyterians also do the juice (in Aus, at least)

Churches in Bolivia do real stuff- but that's probably best, healthwise.

I thouiyght baptists aren't meant to drink alcohol - so that counts wine out. Why is that anyway, Jesus drank, responsibly too. So why is baptist anti-alcohol?

You'd have to get some of the good stuff to convince people- would the church budget stand for it? Could be an interesting way to liven up church meetings! Just say it was Grant's idea or something. (Or mine! They can't fire me!)

Do we have any gluten-intolerant people at MBC? Do we have the rice cracker option?

You're right about pants and Mitcham- shorts!

Matt: how to handle baldness

Bald R Us

Survey proves that Bald men are the best dressed and the most romantic.

(Oh- you been to your office yet, Matt?)

Digger. God created all people bald and then covered the ugly ones with hair...

And at my church we don't wear pants. I thought your naked church would be the same.

Real wine for communion - all in favour...

Why don't the Christian guys grow beards?

Or wear sandals? (yay summer!) Or...

This is actually a semi serious question, as traditionally in Islam it is felt that you should emulate your "prophet" (There are a few more than just Mohammed- he's just the Muslim's prophet (and the last therefore most important)- also are Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and a few more.) So, why don't we?

Why don't we use real wine for communion? (We should sneak some in.)

1. Why it is that you're going bald?

2. Why, when it never says that Jesus did, do we as Christians wear pants?
