Back in this post, a woman named Anne asked the following:

I have a couple of questions for you about Righteousness from God through Faith:

There is a simple command from Jesus Christ to everyone in Matthew 6 that Paul expounded on, primarily in Romans and Galatians, especially his summary in Ro 1:16-21: “But seek ye first His (God’s) Kingdom and His (God’s) Righteousness.” What is it, exactly, that we must find?

Um, we are to find God’s kingdom and God’s righteousness. Not sure what you’re asking me here Anne. Do you want my opinion on what these things are? Given that Jesus’ parables usually start with “the Kingdom of God is like…” I reckon a good reading of the gospels will help answer your question.

In Jn 2, when Jesus Christ changed the water into wine He revealed His Glory, the Glory He had from the Father before the beginning of the world. Do you know what He revealed in Jn 2:1-11?

He revealed his glory. That’s what it says! A recreation by the creator…again, what are you really asking me here?

I know my answers seem a bit cynical, but there is a good reason for that…

This is not normally the sort of thing I’m asked. That’s not a problem, but the questions had all the hallmarks of being the beginning of a torrent of emails telling me my theology was wrong and I was going to burn in hell. Basically the same sort of stuff that the people at Rapture Ready used to say was going to happen to me.

Anyway, I Googled Anne’s name and sure enough, she has a reputation. Sadly not a good one either. Some of the things said about her are clearly unkind, but genuine questions of her have gone unanswered.

I’m not sure whether Anne will visit here again, but I hope she does - on the proviso that, like everybody else, she engages in honest, open dialogue and is happy to let others believe differently to her. And not damn them to hell in the process.

You there Anne? Let’s talk…

I reckon the first one refers to the Holy Grail, the second one, Jesus pulled back tunic to reveal a “I’m God” t-shirt.

    kidding… kidding.

What about when Jesus is on the mountain, with Moses and Elijah? That was pretty cool, glory wise. Brilliant white robes and all that. I don’t reckon that happened at Cana (wouldn’t they have said?) but did it have to? Jesus often said “believe the miracles” - the biggest of which is the resurrection.

Controlling the weather, pulling bread and fish out of the 5th dimension, etc. (read flat lands)

Jesus was and is God. He loves us. He bought us. What’s the big deal?
