Life is not a game…
Published by Matt Glover September 6th, 2006 in Hearing the WordWe were fortunate on Sunday night to have Sarah Coates from Youth Dimension share a little about life and faith. I’d not met or even heard Sarah before, so I must confess to being a little nervous…but my concerns were unfounded and she was great!
Sarah stated that life is not a game. In a game there are well defined rules and an umpire to pull you into line. In life, there are no well defined rules and we do basically whatever we want.
The rest of Sarah;s message was simple but powerful. It wasn’t much more than the gospel in a nutshell, but it was obvious that the SPirit was using her words to shape and change those that were listening.
She spoke of the consequences that occur when ignoring life’s umpire (God). God is an umpire that we can trust to make the right call. Sometimes it doesn’t seem like it, but in the end God can speak nothing but the truth. This leaves us with a choice - we can live life ignoring the umpire and thus miss out on living it the way it was meant to be. Or we can chose to accept the word of the umpire and experience life to the full.
As I said. Simple but powerful. Thanks to Sarah for being a part of it!
hey matt!
