Simply Simon
Published by Matt Glover August 1st, 2006 in Reading, Watching & ListeningA comment I often receive from people is that being a pastor and cartoonist is a strange mix. A blog I have enjoyed reading in recent times is that of somebody who embodies an even more unsual mix. Simon Holt, of Simply Simon, is a theological lecturer and chef. He spoke at a chapel service I attended recently and food was his theme. The message was amazing and like nothing I’d heard before.
Anyway, he shares many of his thoughts on a regular basis over at Simply Simon and at the moment is working through a series of reflections on theology and life called Suburban Dreams.
Go and have a read. Fascinating stuff.
Note: The blogroll widget in this theme is stuffed - anyone know how to fix it?
Wow, that is an interesting combination… mind you, you’d always know you were going to get good food at Youth Group activities then!! Simon definetly has some good stuff on his blog! Looks interesting.
From memory, he used to be a pastor too. Imagine communion…!
Wow, that’d be good!!! Don’t know if anyone would be able to pass up communion then!!
Thanks Matt. A lovely affirmation. I put the text of that sermon up on the blog recently, under ‘writing’.
I’ve always thought the leap from the kitchen to the church is not really as far as it sounds. Perhaps you find the same as a cartoonist.
