Cartoon Reflection: God, Adam & Michelangelo
Published by Matt Glover July 26th, 2006 in Cartoons & CartoonistsEverytime I see the painting on the Sistine Chapel, I can’t help but think of this. As it turns out, quite a few cartoonists have come up with the same joke. Fortunately an idea isn’t protected by copyright, just the expression of the idea.
Anyway, this is my take on the gag.

humans are dumb, aren’t they? I love the angels going “NOOOO!!!” “Don’t do it!”
wait… how many times have you been to the Sistine chapel?
Er, none. But don’t tell anybody….
If you get a chance Matt, you have to go!! It is so amazing.. it’s literally breathtaking!!
This cartoon is so offensive. Look at the way the cartoonist has drawn the angels. Two are warning Adam NOT to pull Gods finger. And the other is ready to wave away the sink!
Just because God created human bodies with the ability to expel gases does this mean we need to atribute this quality to our awesome God! And I thank God for this ability, at least once a day, I’m sure.
I bet the artist does not even have the sense to keep away from a naked flame when he has eaten to many baked beans!
Unbelievable!
As the song goes….
Baked beans are good for the heart,
The more you eat the more you fart.
The more you fart the better you feel,
So eat baked beans for every meal.
Words to live by.
lol i used to sing that song all the time matt! lol brilliant cartoon by the way! VERY FUNNY!!! =)
Whaddya mean God doesn’t expel gases like us? Wasn’t man created in God’s image (or is it the other way around - I can never remember). And anyway, what do you really think clouds are made of…?
Nice cartoon Matt.
