I think I’m happy with the layout and functionality, but wouldn’t mind a few people casting their eye over it to give me a bit of feedback.
If you get a chance, visit www.chewingpencils.com and let me know your thoughts. And be honest - if you think it needs work in an area, tell me. If you think something’s missing, let me know. Basically just give me your honest opinion.

Overall, really good.. layout is simple, easy on the eye, and has good use of colours… I LIKE IT!! Only thing I’d change is you have to scroll a fair way down to find the catagories/recent posts/recent comments/etc. compared to your other blog, but otherwise really good! Hope that helps… also, I like the subscribe bit at the top where you can put in your e-mail. Nice Job!

really like the header at the top.
There is a little bit of text going under the side bar- probably in the css code the width of the paragraphs (p) (the text) is too wide for the column it’s been allocated to. Try giving the text a margin and/or a padding value.
If you are going to use the readmore function then have it cut off earlier. You’ll have more of your great content (not to mention keywords) on your front page.
maybe have the different categories on the top menu along with the blog link.
VERY WELL DONE though- I’m just nitpicking.

I can’t see where the text is going under. I’m on a 19″ monitor, so maybe it’s ok for me?
More catergories will come along the toip when I put together some pages. That will hopefully happen with time.
Very untechnical here, but I reckon it needs more colour, my first impression was that there wasn’t much to it, a bit drull (I so hope thats a word!) and no cartoons! If I was a cartoonist I’d probably wanna see your work, maybe see that you know what you’re on about?

It’s not really a site to display cartoons as such - thats what http://www.mattglover.com is for. It’s more an info site, though the more cotroversial ones form time to time will get a showing.
And the colours. Well, I limited the pallette on purpose. Just because I could really. I kinda loke it so it will stay for now.
And Lily, don’t tell anyone, but that guy chewing the pencil was never meant to be there! It was a ten second mock up that I did to see what it would look like - then I never got around to putting a proper one there!
