Critiquing the Emerging Church II
Published by Matt Glover February 2nd, 2006 in Emerging Missional ChurchJust in between the retreat and the weekend away and thought I’d post another request for feedback on your experience of the Emerging Church. My original request can be found here.
To recap briefly, I am about to do some writing that critiques the emerging church movement from the ‘inside’ in an attempt to help some of my community understand some of the ways church is happening around the place.
But I want this to be an honest “this-is-how-it-is” type critique. What is the good stuff about being an emerging/missional community? What is the stuff that hurts and gets you down? What do you wish you’d never done? What do you wish you could do? What are the areas the movement as a whole needs to mature in and what does it have to offer the more traditional form of church? Basically, if somebody was to ask you, “What’s it like?”, and you were to answer with 100% honesty, what would you say?
I’ve got some golden feedback so far. Anything else you’ve got would be great.
See you next week.
Some things for me to look at when I get back….
