Asking the Hard Questions.
Published by Matt Glover December 30th, 2005 in Family & ParentingI was sitting in the food court at Box Hill this morning, sharing a chocolate milk and some biscuits with my not-yet-three-year- old son Thomas.
Suddenly a look of intense concentration came over his face. With a mouthful of biscuit, he looked at me and said,
“Daddy, are we blessed?”
“Yes Thomas. We are very blessed.”
“Daddy. Did God make us?”
“Yes Thomas, God made us.”
“Why did God make us Daddy?”
“Because God wanted some more friends to play with.”
And with that, he went back to drinking his milk and eating his biscuits.
Needless to say, I was blown away by the questioning of my little fella. And absolutely thrilled! A theologian in the making for sure!
Don’t ever tell me that a child has no grasp of faith.
