Jared Mitchell Glover

On Sunday morning, Katrina and I dedicated ourselves to bring up Jared in a home, and community, of faith. Our family, friends and neighbours all came for the occassion, and of course, our church family too. I found it a humbling experience to be presenting my healthy son on Micah Challenge Sunday, when so many thousands of Dads around the world are never sure if their sons will wake up because of poverty and starvation.
I’m praying that, somehow, the love and support we receive in bringing up our boys will be part of the life of every child. Is it just me, or do you become much more sensitive to children suffering when you have your own?
HI Matt
It’s true that you become more sensitive to children suffering when you have your own (in my experience) but you are still prone to fall victim to ‘heart hardening’ as you grow older & further away from that point when you became a parent. I think that’s one of the reasons being around young people ‘keeps you young’ , because it keeps you in touch with those emotions and feelings that can wear thin.
Thank you for sharing on Sunday - you made it very personal for all of us and inclusive of the PG families who came.
